History
In business since March 2005, Josephine’s Bakery is an international pastry shop producing exquisite cakes and biscuits using the best available ingredients and the finest baking methods. With the tantalizing address of Piazza del Paradiso 56/57 it is located one minute from Campo de Fiori and is just off Corso Vittorio, a perfect position in the heart of Rome.
The director is London born ex-model Josephine Scorer who in 1999 decided to make Rome her home. A self confessed “lover of all things beautiful”, she first had the idea for the shop after noticing the distinct lack of quality cakes in a city that offers so much else. “I wanted to create something that Rome does not have, a beautiful shop with gorgeous cakes, cakes that rely on quality and simplicity, that taste delicious and look amazing”.
Josephine’s Bakery cakes come not from the Italian baking tradition but represent the crème de la crème of cakes from all over the world: cheesecake from New York, sumptuous English chocolate fudge cake, brownies, carrot cake, the sweet breads of Eastern Europe, and French patisserie. All the cakes are handcrafted in the on-site kitchen by professionally trained pastry chefs and use where possible organic ingredients.
Josephine’s Bakery also offers the following services: catering, children’s parties, bespoke cakes for special occasions, company logo cakes for corporate customers, and last but not least, our signature wedding cake. We can offer a myriad of suggestions or follow your own design, and our creative team with its meticulous attention to detail will customise any product to create an individual look that is both impressive and attractive.
For our wholesale customers we have a number of cakes that work brilliantly as desserts and could be an innovative addition to fancy restaurant menus. Our smaller items such as cupcakes and cookies are perfect for bars and tearooms.
